April 14 Meeting: Bikes + Kids + Commute + Play

Calling all City of Portland mamas and papas! Are you interested in commuting to work, school and play with your kids by bike? If yes, come to the cityMama’s meeting and learn from some working moms and dads how they do it.

TOPIC: Biking to Work, Daycare and Home with Kids + Let's go to Sunday Parkways
DATE: Thursday, April 14th
TIME: 12:00 – 1:30 pm
LOCATION: (NEW LOCATION!): NW Broadway Room, 9th Floor, Portland Bldg.

This one is for the dads too. PRESENTERS: Dan Layden, PBOT; Jon Makler, OTREC; Hau Hagerdorn, OTREC/urbanMamas. These mamas and papas commute to work, school, daycare, etc., on bikes with kids in tow. Panel discussion with hopefully some real world demonstrations of gear and equipment. Will also have information on the 2011 Sunday Parkways - let's plan a meet up!

October 14 Meeting: Life Coach Savannah Mayfield

We are really excited about our guest speaker on Thursday, October 14th:

Savannah Mayfield, LMT, CEC

Savannah is a certified life coach who loves supporting women as they embrace the wisdom of their creative, feminine essence. She is inspired by women creating intentional, purpose-filled lives. She runs holds Women’s Circles regularly in Portland at Zenana Spa and Wellness Center.

Her topic for us will be:
Transforming limiting thoughts about motherhood
(Particularly related to guilt)

Whether you are just returning to work after having a baby or you are a mama professional needing some extra support, this session is for you!

March Mtg - Toxic Free Families

Our March meeting will be held this Thursday, March 11th at noon in the Blazed Alder Room on the the 3rd floor of the Portland Building (1120 SW 5th Ave).

We will have two guest speakers, Jen Coleman from the Oregon Environmental Council and Caran Goodall from Metro. They both specialize in helping families reduce their household toxics and find environmentally friendly solutions. Caran will teach us about healthy alternatives and provide some household cleaning recipes. Jen will give an overview of family related toxics policy and how we can advocate for our children.
